Wednesday Pack Activities (9/4/2024)
Adventure Pack
Nelly and Ruffers couldn't get enough of the smells to be found along Baseline Trail this morning. The two of them made so many stops and spent so long sniffing at each one that I started to wonder whether we would make it up the mountain today. Bear joined in to sniff and mark some spots with his packmates, but Nelly and Ruffers were the ones driving the investigations. Nelly snatched a blade of grass here and there, but was mostly just interested in putting her nose to work. We did make it up the mountain eventually, and the stormy skies that were gathering made for a stunning view as we descended Ski Jump Trail.
Variety Pack
The storms held off as Griff, Alfie, Lumi, and Archie walked around Wonderland Lake this afternoon. Rabbits were out in force today. The whole pack eyed the first one we encountered, in the first moments of our walk. As we continued to pass by more, Griff and Lumi checked out; Alfie and Archie remained intensely interested in them every time they crossed our paths. Alfie and Archie were also excited to see a deer grazing by the far side of the pond, while Griff and Lumi didn't react. The deer stared at us warily as we passed by, Alfie and Archie looking over their shoulders with their mouths agape, hoping against the odds that I was about to issue the command, "Go get it!"
