Wednesday Pack Activities (9/25/2024)
Adventure Pack
Lucy and Yoshi managed to contain their excitement reasonably well when we passed by other dogs at the Chautauqua today. Bear and Ruffers lingered far behind during their off-leash time, sniffing around and hanging out in shaded areas as much as they could in between catching up. Everyone took drinks from the CamelBak at least a couple times along the way. We encountered some magpies and bluejays who were hopping around a stretch of trail, and Lucy and Yoshi fought their urges to pounce.
Variety Pack
Jen joined the pack outing to lend a hand with Alfie, Griff, Carl, Yoshi, Lou, Lumi, Archie, and Buddy this afternoon. Carl was especially happy to have Jen along for the walk, and kept pawing at her and trying to climb up her leg at the beginning to express his enthusiasm for her presence. Goose Creek Greenway was bustling with prairie dogs. Alfie and Yoshi perked up at the sight of them but didn't make any attempts to go after them. The dogs all stayed in formation impressively well throughout the walk. Carl and Buddy looked very cute as two little blond boys trotting shoulder-to-shoulder. There was a brief stretch where Buddy turned back to leap at Archie a few times, but Archie didn't really react and Buddy got back on track walking beside Carl. Lumi made sure we stopped on the grassy hillside where he always likes to take a load off. Lou joined him in stretching out in the shade while Buddy flopped around in the grass and the rest of the pack stood by and just enjoyed being out of the sun. On the return leg, we passed through the fields of prairie dogs again. This time, Alfie and Yoshi were joined by Griff, Archie, and Buddy in their interest, but still everyone stayed on pace and in place as we walked.
