Wednesday Pack Activities (7/3/2024)
Adventure Pack
Nelly flirted at the water's edge during our first stop at the ditch on our way up the Red Rocks trails today. Bear had already climbed straight in. Lucy hesitated for a minute, then followed after Bear. Ruffers waited until the others had gotten out of the water before she eased in for a soak. Lucy and Ruffers didn't hesitate when we stopped at the ditch again on our way down the mountain. Nelly only allowed her front paws to get wet as she leaned down to lap up a little water. We finished up the outing by strolling Boulder Creek. It was a quiet and pleasant time.
Variety Pack
Kona, Racer, Arlo, Buddy, Alfie, and Lumi headed to Bear Creek Greenway for their afternoon pack walk. We made several stops for the dogs to sniff around in the brush along the creek bordering Martin Park, then settled into a steady pace. Everyone enjoyed taking it easy in the shade of the big tree by the mile marker boulder beside the basketball courts. Buddy shouldered down and flopped his way across the grass while everyone else just chilled. Racer, Lumi, and Buddy were all happy to have some water, while Alfie, Arlo, and Kona took a pass. Arlo and Racer switched sides in our formation for the return leg of the walk, while everyone else kept their positions. We made a couple more rest stops in the shade, an finished up by taking the long way around the park back to the packmobile.
