Wednesday Pack Activities (7/24/2024)

Adventure Pack

Nelly was a bit bolder in checking out the creek today, with her front paws planted firmly in the flow of water. She also didn't seem to mind too much when I draped some water onto her back after scooping it up from the creek with my hand. Meanwhile, Ruffers, Bear, and Lumi were wading around nearby. When Bear and Lumi shook off beside her, Nelly's attitude about being by the water quickly changed; however, she soon returned to the water's edge for another drink. Lumi and Bear were pretty stubborn about wanting to pull over to sniff throughout our walk. I indulged them some, since we were taking it easy due to the poor air quality, but I kept them from dragging the pack over to places on every whim.

Variety Pack

Alfie, Archie, Buddy, and Griff strolled Boulder Creek Path at a very easy pace this afternoon. Alfie waded into water that was nearly deep enough to reach his chest. Buddy stumbled on some rocks in the creek and then was holding his back right leg up for a couple minutes. I was worried he hurt it badly, but he started putting more and more weight on it until he was walking normally again. Archie was very interested in every other dog on the path, and frequently turned around to check out whoever was walking behind us at any given time. Griff got his paws wet in the creek and kept right at my side throughout the walk, dutiful as he always is on our pack outings.
