Wednesday Pack Activities (5/8/2024)

Adventure Pack

Bear, Lucy, Dylan, and Ruffers again took their time working from one scent to the next when we arrived at the Chautauqua from the 8th street connector. Once our ascent started, the sniffing breaks became much less frequent. Lucy was getting more worked up about the other dogs we passed by today. After she pulled and woofed at the first couple, we started heading off to the side of the trail to practice staying calm when other dogs went by. Bear and Ruffers lingered behind a bit when they spent some time off leash. Dylan was panting pretty hard from pretty early on, but kept up his pace. He and Bear only accepted a little bit of water. Ruffers refused, as she often does. Lucy continues to be curious about the water but immediately shies away as soon as it touches her tongue. I tried pouring it into my hand to get her more used to it, but she again pulled away after one lick.

Variety Pack

Lumi and Alfie were drawn by their noses to various spots along Goose Creek Greenway and the stretch of Boulder Creek Path that it meets on the east side of town. They headed to scents of interest with decisive purpose; Buddy and Griff were always quick to follow up with them. Buddy did his best to stir up both Lumi and Alfie. Lumi responded and the two of them rolled around with each other in the grass. Alfie also joined in for a goofy roll on his back, which caught Buddy's attention and earned him an attempted tackle from his pint-sized packmate. Griff didn't get involved in those shenanigans.
