Wednesday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

Dylan was ready to head out without skipping a beat when I picked him up today. Sputnik spent a good minute nuzzling me before we headed to the car. Ruffers had a whole song and dance prepared. It was good to be back with the pack! We stopped at Boulder Creek at the start of our walk, but none of the dogs wanted to venture out to the deeper water. Dylan lay down and then shook off next to a girl reading beside the creek - whoops! I apologized on his behalf and she didn't seem too bothered by it. We headed up to the Red Rocks Trails, and stopped again at the Farmers' Ditch on the way up. The dogs spent a little more time wading around in the water there. We looped around through the Red Rocks area, reaching the crest twice from two different directions, and then headed back down to Boulder Creek.

Variety Pack

Imogene, Lizzo, Zoey, Carl, and Rey all gathered around to get some love when we stopped at the house before our afternoon walk. Rey and Zoey gave each other a lot of kisses. Carl took some steps toward establishing play rules with Lizzo; she has a tendency to just keep darting in and tackling him, but she is beginning to understand that she needs to be a little more gentle and respectful in order to get him to play back. Imogene was more interested in attention from me and Jen, and kept sitting down in front of us and cuddling against our legs. On the walk itself, Rey and Zoey were quick to hop into the creek and wade out to the deeper water. Carl stayed in the shallows, which still got him pretty wet, since he doesn't have much ground clearance. Lizzo and Imogene danced around at the water's edge, and didn't go very far in. When a tuber came floating down the creek, Rey and Zoey watched with unwavering interest as he passed. The others were more concerned with the twigs and what-not around them, and didn't really take notice of the tuber.
