Wednesday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

Dylan, Ruffers, and Sputnik all crossed the creek at Gregory Canyon by wading through the fast-flowing waters. We headed up the Saddle Rock Trail from there. Dylan and Ruffers bounced between leading the way and lingering behind to sniff, while Sputnik stayed on leash with me through the forested path with lots of turns and short visibility, since I still don't trust him to greet other dogs nicely when we come upon them. We headed up to a point where the trail meets the creek again, further upstream, and hung out there for a few minutes before heading back down. On the way back, Sputnik opted for rock-hopping across the creek, while Ruffers and Dylan went through the water again. We didn't see any bears today, unlike yesterday.

Variety Pack

Mamacita went for an early roll and wiggle in the grass at Eben G. Fine Park, at the beginning of our walk along the Boulder Creek. Meanwhile, Carl and Zoey sniffed a nearby tree and marked it, in turn. Rey and Ruffers poked around in the grass a bit and waited for Mamacita to finish her very important undertaking. Later on, Rey was focused on a pair of geese we passed at the Evert Pierson Kids' Fishing Pond. I noticed that both geese were standing in shallow water, with one leg pulled up, like flamingos. Zoey's attention was on people in or near the water, as we continued along beside the creek.
