Wednesday Pack Activities (10/2/2024)
Adventure Pack
After the brief, cool respite of yesterday, Bear and Ruffers were feeling the heat as we set out to hike at the Chautauqua today. About halfway up the mountain on the way to Ski Jump Trail, Ruffers refused to go any further. We made our way back down and hung out in some shade in the meadow for a bit. Bear was happy to get a drink of water and lie down. Ruffers is usually averse to water from the CamelBak, but she went for it today. We walked through the meadow, stopping at every shaded spot along the way, then went around the park. Bear enjoyed rolling around in the softer, green grass of the park. Can't wait for these upper-80 degree Fahrenheit days to pass as we get further into autumn.
Variety Pack
Griff, Dylan, Lumi, and Alfie got into Boulder Creek during their afternoon pack walk. Lumi was predictably the first in and the last out, but everybody enjoyed the dip. We passed by several squirrels that Alfie didn't react to, but he couldn't quite contain himself when he caught a glimpse of one scurrying up a nearby tree. All the boys were very drawn to numerous spots along the way, and veered into the brush beside the path on a dime in order to track down the sources of olfactory interest.
