Wednesday Pack Activities (1/22/2025)
Adventure Pack
Bear took the lead while he was off leash on the mesas, while Ruffers followed close behind me, Tozai, and Nelly. Nelly and Tozai both munched on some snow today. Whenever we passed by another hiker, Nelly would start jumping around playfully and then frantically try to gobble down chunks of snow. Tozai grazed periodically throughout. Tozai tried to tackle Bear every now and then. Ruffers stopped a couple times to pick snowballs out from between her toes. The further out we got, the less-trodden was the path, which made for a laborious trek.
Variety Pack
Alfie, Griff, Buddy, Lumi, and Dylan walked Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. They started out with a lot of sniffing and marking in the snow at Martin Park. Some stretches of the walkway were blanketed with snowdrift that undid the ploughing that had previously been done. Buddy enjoyed throwing himself into the snow and flopping around in it as the rest of us walked in more normal fashion. When we got to cleared stretches, Alfie opted to walk through the snowbank beside us instead. Everyone flocked to patches of yellow snow to learn about the day's other visitors to the area. Dylan and Buddy each got cold paws, and held them up. Dylan required a break and a little attention before he got going again. Buddy just hopped with his one back leg up for a brief stint and then returned to his normal gait. Griff, Lumi, and Alfie didn't have any such troubles.
