Wednesday Pack Activities (1/10/2024)
Adventure Pack
Lucy was back with the pack after a hiatus due to respiratory symptoms. She been feeling fine again and was super excited to see all of her packmates. Her enthusiasm was barely tempered by the stern grumbles that her frantic, wiggly greetings invoked. I kept the whole pack on leash because it's harder to keep my head up and aware, or to hear approaching hikers, over the howling wind. It was really blowing today! Dylan, Ruffers and Bear were all good about staying close and on pace. Even young Lucy did a good job of it when there weren't other dogs passing by to distract her. Dylan and Bear surprised me again by both staying upright despite the many patches of snow we encountered. Lucy grabbed up a stick to bring along for the return stretch of the hike and Bear was very interested in it. He eventually snatched it from Lucy. After he chewed it a bit, I had him drop it so Lucy could have it back, but she decided to leave it behind at that point.
Variety Pack
Buddy and Archie were playful with each other as always - before, during and after our walk. Lumi joined in to dodge and wrestle with Archie at one point during the walk, when Archie backed into him after getting up on his hind legs to watch another dog we had passed by. Alfie remained calm and collected despite his packmates' wild streaks. We didn't make many stops for sniffing, and instead kept on the move to stave off the cold. The air felt chillier than this morning, but at least the wind was a bit less intense than it had been for the hike.
