Tuesday Pack Activities (9/29/2023)

Adventure Pack

We were at the edge of a thunderstorm as the pack set out to hike today. It sprinkled lightly and there was some thunder in the distance but we were mostly unaffected at the Chautauqua. Baseline Trail had as many interesting smells as ever. Imogene, Taco, Griff and Racer were all equally interested in investigating them. We made a lot of stops and did a lot of backtracking as everyone followed their noses.

Variety Pack

Alfie and Monkey were very happy to see each other at the house before the afternoon outing. While they entertained each other, Yoshi and Taco had some fun wrestling around as well. Zoey joined in briefly and Carl started barking at the commotion from the safe distance of a sofa across the room. Ruffers kept out of the fray and just wanted some pets. Alfie, Yoshi, Ruffers, Zoey and Carl then headed to Bear Creek Greenway for a stroll. There were a lot of storm clouds around, but South Boulder was a bit clearer and the rain was holding off. Yoshi had a sudden outburst of wild energy on our way back and I had to bear hug and pull him onto my lap to get him to stop jumping all around his packmates. Thankfully, none of them engaged so it wasn't too difficult to isolate him and get him back under control. After he was able to settle down and take a few deep breaths, we got back to our walk and he remained calm the rest of the way. Thunder and rain had just started up as we made our way back to the packmobile.

Bonus Pack

Monkey and Taco enjoyed their own, shorter walk with Jen around the Wonderland Hill neighborhood this afternoon. They had a bit more rain than the Variety Pack in South Boulder. They stopped under the shelter of trees a few times and Monkey looked all around trying to figure out the source of the sound of rain hitting the leaves above them. Taco and Monkey were both very interested in a post truck that stopped near them when it was photo time.
