Tuesday Pack Activities (6/25/2024)
Adventure Pack
The sun was out today, which made it feel much hotter despite it being about the same temperature as yesterday. Arlo, Racer, Griff, and Imogene all took a long break when we reached the stream by the Gregory Canyon trail head. We took a slow pace up the mountain, lingering in the shaded stretches. Imogene was quite thirsty, and drank as much from the CamelBak as I offered. Griff and Racer both took a bit of water, but were quickly satisfied. Arlo kept his distance while his packmates drank, but I doused both him and Racer with some water on their necks and backs.
Variety Pack
Carl made the regular stops at the trees around Eben G. Fine Park, following the routine that his late sister Zoey played a big role in setting for the pack over the years. It was very busy at the park, so we had to get a bit further down the creek to find a spot for the dogs to get into the water. Griff, Dylan, Carl, and Lou all went right in. Lou and Dylan both lay down to get their bellies wet as well. Dylan and Carl were our lead sniffers throughout the walk, with Griff and Lou following up if we lingered in a spot for more than a couple beats. Storm clouds rolled in during the latter part of the walk, which provided a bit of respite from the smoldering sun.
