Adventure Pack

Racer was very interested in the smells near the trail head, and took her time investigating them. Everyone joined her at first, but then Imogene and Griff started to just stand around, and Arlo started to whine with impatience. The script flipped when we got to the stream, where Arlo was the one who wanted to linger, while Racer was the first to exit the water; Griff and Imogene again just hung out, ready to go with the flow. Imogene had a burst of playful energy on the mesa and started sprinting in big circles on her own. Griff allowed the pack to get ahead of him a bit more than usual, but still spent most of the time in his forward scouting position.

Tozai had his first dog park visit with the pack today! Carl was very anxious to get into the park and get started with some fetch. Carl's excitement was infectious, and Tozai ran after tennis balls with his little packmate for a while. Dylan and Ruffers headed off to sniff around together, and Tozai occasionally broke off from tennis ball duty with Carl, to check out their investigations. There were several friendly Huskies/Husky mixes at the park this afternoon. Ruffers was very interested in a brown one named Gimli, who appeared not to be neutered. A little later on, a grey one followed Carl around while he fetched his tennis ball. A Husky mix came over and poked at Tozai's shoulder a bit, then sat down in front of him, to try to elicit some play; but Tozai was not feeling it and just moseyed on by. Dylan took a liking to that dog, and ended up following him around for the rest of our park visit. It was a beautiful afternoon, full of friendly dogs!
