Tuesday Pack Activities (4/18/2023)
Adventure Pack
Griff and Racer had a good time on the trails at the Chautauqua this morning. They took their time poking through the meadow at the beginning of the hike. After that, we kept a steady pace on our ascent of the Chautauqua Trail. Griff stuck close by when he went off leash. We encountered a very sweet, friendly Golden Retriever with a darker, wavier coat that reminded me of the dog my family had when I was a teenager, Cinnamon. Shortly after that encounter, we saw a platinum blond Golden Retriever, followed closely by a more yellow Golden Retriever. It was was quite a coincidence seeing all the different kinds of Golden Retrievers after having just talked about those variations with my parents.
Variety Pack
Petie, Zoey and Carl roamed the Valmont Dog Park this afternoon, sniffing hello with all of the dogs there. The mood was pretty mellow, as the dogs are still adjusting to the warming weather. Carl played some fetch and had a Whippet buddy chasing after him as he did. Zoey fetched a few throws, but mostly just lay down with her ball. Petie was curious about a Great Pyrenees, but that dog was a bit grumpy so Petie didn't linger around him too long. There were a lot of dogs to greet, but not much activity.
