Tuesday Pack Activities (1/7/2025)
Adventure Pack
Arlo made play moves beside me as Imogene and Griff dashed by us in the snow at Enchanted Mesa. The cold weather and blanket of white put the pack in a lively mood. In addition to romping, the dogs also poked their noses into the snow to sniff around. Imogene tried to pick up a big log, but it was too heavy and broke apart too easily, so she just came away with a mouth full of bark. There was one tuft of grass in particular that Arlo was very interested in. He kept jabbing his face deep into the snow, and then he stood perfectly still for several seconds before shifting his head a little and holding still with his face buried again.
Variety Pack
Dylan, Carl, Tozai and Alfie walked Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. Alfie and Tozai kept shifting off of the path and into the snow as we went. Carl and Dylan were mostly content to stick to the plowed sidewalk, aside from when they stopped to have a sniff. The boys all chipped in with their respective efforts to turn the snow yellow at various points of interest. Tozai got a beard of snowballs from sniffing in the white stuff but his feet and legs remained clear thanks to the help of some snow-repellant wax, despite his frequent detours through the snow bank. Every so often, Tozai crossed over to Dylan to check how grumpy he was feeling. Dylan shrugged off the prodding puppy and I redirected Tozai back to his place in formation beside Alfie. Alfie got some face licks and pokes from his puppy packmate, but Tozai didn't press the way he likes to try with Dylan. Carl missed out on Tozai's playful harassment, but I think he preferred it that way.
