Thursday Pack Activities (9/19/2024)
Adventure Pack
Rey and Griff greeted a happy puppy in the Chautauqua Meadow at the beginning of our hike. Rey was trying to get the puppy to play while Griff was acting stern, so it was an awkward and confusing combination for the pup. Meanwhile, Arlo was barking with jealousy over his packmates being able to say hello first, before the puppy made its way over to us. Racer was more interested in sniffing around in the grass than in greeting the overwhelmed pup. There are still some remnants of bear scat on the Chautauqua Trail. Racer and Rey sniffed at it as we passed, and I hurried them along before Racer ventured to get a taste.
Variety Pack
Dylan, Lou, and Alfie strolled Boulder Creek Path this afternoon. There were some squirrels running around in the trees and brush by the creek, and Alfie jumped when he noticed them. A short while later, a goose hissed at the pack as we walked by the kids' fishing pond, and none of the dogs reacted. Aside from those couple brief wildlife encounters, it was a calm and mellow afternoon at the creek.
