Thursday Pack Activities (8/29/2024)
Adventure Pack
This morning I took notice of the dogs' different styles of drinking water from Silver Lake Ditch. Arlo lapped it up with a series of licks; Racer chomped at the water like she was taking chunks out of it; Rey and Griff both employed a scooping technique, skimming the water's surface as they waded around. Later on, Griff and Rey made a new friend who was wandering through the brush ahead of the pack. The dog, who looked like it might have been a Finnish Lapphund, briefly roamed around off leash with Griff and Rey before heading off along a different branch of trail to catch up to its human. Arlo was very interested from a distance, and whimpered while watching his packmates saying hello. Racer was more concerned with sniffing and nibbling at some grass along the edge of the trail.
Variety Pack
Lou had some opinions about the direction in which to set out for our walk this afternoon. At first, she seemed to want to head west through Martin Park like she did recently; however, after everybody lay in the grass for a minute, she decided she wanted to head back the other way. Maybe she knew that Dylan and Carl wanted to roll around in the grass in that particular spot. They were certainly happy to have the opportunity. After that, Lou was less demanding about our itinerary. Lumi, Carl, and Dylan made up for that with all of the stops they wanted to make, to sniff around at the edge of the tall grass.
