Thursday Pack Activities (7/5/2024)
Bonus Pack
Arlo, Alfie, Racer, and Bear enjoyed a morning stroll around Wonderland Lake. Alfie and Arlo kicked up some grass after peeing by the fence post where the sidewalk at Broadway dips down toward the trail head. Bear did his marking without the follow-up routine. Racer walked in formation better than usual, not pulling off to the side as much as she often tends to do. At one point during the walk, a rabbit darted out from a bush that was beside the path. Alfie leapt into the air with surprise. What was even more surprising was that nobody else reacted.
Adventure Pack
Lou, Lucy, and Yoshi all climbed into the ditch without making too much of a splash. However, Lou kept shaking off while she was still in the water, which caused both me and Nelly to flinch at the spray. On our way back down the mountain, we stopped at the water a couple more times. With a little nudge, Nelly stepped her front and rear paws into shallow water that was running over some rocks, as she leaned down to take a drink. Lucy and Yoshi pulled ahead a bit throughout the hike, and the walk along Boulder Creek Path that we finished up with, so I gave some attention to keeping them in check especially when we were passing other dogs.
Variety Pack
Carl, Griff, Kona, Buddy, and Ruffers walked Bear Creek Greenway together this afternoon. Buddy shouldered down and wiggled in the grass by the basketball courts. Kona got excited about a squirrel running along the top of the log fence a little past that point. The others didn't take notice. There was a large, downed branch in the field by the basketball courts, which Ruffers wanted to investigate on our return pass. Everyone was quick to follow suit when we slowed. Carl and Griff left their marks on the find.
