Thursday Pack Activities (6/8/2023)

Adventure Pack

The poppies and bluebells were in bloom across the Chautauqua meadow as Tucker, Button, Griff and Racer hiked through on their way to Gregory Canyon today. When we got to the stream, Tucker pawed at the water and pulled out a good, soaked stick to chew on while Racer and Button waded around and Griff explored the surrounding area. We then continued up Gregory Canyon, where we encountered a lot of other dogs out for a hike. Some passed by without saying hello, others stopped to sniff. The pack were all friendly with everyone. We made our way through Chautauqua Park at the end of the hike and lingered in the shade of some of the trees there.

Variety Pack

Zoey, Carl, Clover and Ruffers enjoyed poking around in the grass beside the trail at various points arund Wonderland Lake this afternoon. Zoey made sure we stopped for a break in the shade at the northeast end of the pond, which I continue to call a pond because it is no bigger than the pond in my hometown in Connecticut. There were a lot of times when Zoey slowed or stopped, but then didn't seem particularly interested in sniffing around. Carl took every opportunity to rummage about in the brush and then either leave his mark or start nibbling on grass. Ruffers and Clover enjoyed the occasional detour on their side of the path, but kept it brief before marking their spot and returning to the place in formation. We encountered far fewer dogs this afternoon than the Adventure Pack saw at the Chautauqua earlier.
