Thursday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

Racer, Roger Roger, Sputnik, and Griff were all happy that the Farmer's Ditch was flowing again today, so they could hop in and cool off. Griff was especially enthusiastic. He kept diving in and out of the water with much gusto and a huge smile on his face. Racer and Roger Roger were also very eager to get in, but didn't make as much of a show about it. Sputnik followed his packmates in at his own pace. I kept a close eye on him when we passed the kids picnicking at the red rocks formation, and he stayed at my side.

Variety Pack

My friend John lent a hand with the pack walk around Wonderland Lake this afternoon. Zoey, Rucksack, and Mamacita made it pretty easy for him, as they all walked calmly together. Carl, Avo, Riley, and Mrs. Miggins were less orderly, but eventually got into a good rhythm. Mrs. Miggins was very concerned about sticking close to her big brother, Rucksack. Mamacita took a couple opportunities to roll around in the grass, as did Avo. One time, Avo watched Mamacita for a for moments before lying down in parallel right next to her, and then imitating Mamacita's roll. It was very cute. Mamacita seemed happy to have the company, even when Avo spun over and pushed off of her with a back foot. Carl and Riley were both very interested in Mrs. Miggins, and gravitated to her whenever we stopped for a rest in the shade. Zoey didn't insist on all of her usual stops today. That may be in part because I preempted her early on and brought the pack over to the first few stops she typically likes to make.
