Monday Pack Activities (9/30/2024)

Adventure Pack

Rey and Ruffers took their time on the ascent at the Chautauqua today, while Bear was keeping pace at my side. Ruffers kept backtracking to follow up on scents that she caught whiff of - a regular pattern of hers. Bear and Rey were both eager to join in and sniff around with her. I've heard word from OSMP volunteers of bear activity at the Chautauqua lately, so I've been more cautious about letting the dogs off leash only in areas where I have a pretty good survey of the land around us. The dogs didn't wander very far during their off-leash time.

Variety Pack

The pack spent a while poking around Martin Park at the start of our walk. Lou was very particular about when she was ready to move along, and in which direction. Dylan took several opportunities to flop down and roll around in the grass. Carl was eager to sniff and mark everything. Alfie was also into sniffing and marking, but he wasn't nearly as prodigious as Carl in those efforts. After a long while of fickle explorations, the pack finally settled into a steady pace for a quiet and pleasant walk along Bear Creek Greenway.
