Adventure Pack
Rey and Bear just roamed through the brush beside the trail, without any chasing today. Later on, Dylan led the way down the mountain while Ruffers trailed behind. Dylan and Bear were very happy to find a small stream trickling across Ski Jump Trail; Rey and Ruffers only paused there briefly.
Variety Pack
A fat bull snake that must've been about four feet long slithered across the trail on the west side of Wonderland Lake this afternoon, eliciting a wary grumble from Alfie. At first, I thought Alfie was expressing his concern about the man on the other side of the snake from us, who had stopped to allow unhindered passage to the sizeable serpent; but as the snake weaved through the grass after getting across, Alfie's gaze was following the perturbations of undergrowth rather than the movement of the man who passed on the other side of us. Dylan, Lou, and Carl didn't seem to take the same notice. Carl was on a mission today to leave his mark as many times as possible - sometimes half a dozen times on one patch. Despite setting a slow pace on the mountain this morning, Dylan had no trouble keeping up on the flat trail around the pond. When I took a pack photo, Lou tried to come crawl into my lap at first; but I noted how much easier it is to convince her to stay in place now than it was when she first started walking with the pack.
My eyes have never encountered “perturbations “ in any literary passage. It makes me thirst for the next jewel you might place in the blog.
