Adventure Pack
The wind was blowing when Tozai, Rey, Ruffers, and Bear hit the trails at the Chautauqua today, but not as bad as earlier in the morning. There were a surprising number of people out and about despite the gusty weather. When we got to the mesas, it was actually pretty calm. Rey and Bear greeted a couple sweet dogs who came up from behind the pack, and were sweet and calm in return. Ruffers and Tozai didn't have any canine encounters during their off-leash stint. Tozai munched on the occasional stick or pinecone that he picked up from the trail.
Variety Pack
CU South was a bit windier this afternoon than the Chautauqua was for the Adventure Pack earlier. Lou, Dylan, and Carl greeted a tall black Lab who is going white in the face, who reminded me of our late pack member Yoda. The pack's new friend didn't have quite as much white as Dylan, but was getting there. He was walking with another, even older dog who had advanced cataracts, and who paused to sniff towards the pack before moseying along.
