Monday Pack Activities (11/6/2023)
Adventure Pack
Dylan and Ruffers brought up the rear together as we made our way up the mountain today. They both stopped to say hello to some hikers who were getting directions from an OSMP volunteer who, being a bit advanced in age herself, joked that they were having a gathering of the elderly. Bear enjoyed checking out the trail ahead while he was off leash later. Dylan joined him ahead of me and Ruffers. They didn't wander very far and circled back to us frequently.
Variety Pack
The pack all took their time sniffing their way across Martin Park at the beginning of our afternoon stroll. Even though everyone had plenty of opportunity to sniff around, Lou kept stubbornly stopping in place. What was perplexing was that she never seemed to want to do anything once we stopped. Buddy, Alfie, Carl and Zoey all took the many opportunities to sniff around a bit more, but Lou just stood and waited, and would then stop again shortly after we got back to walking. Carl and Alfie both left a lot of scent marks along the way. Zoey moved along a bit slow but steady throughout the walk. Buddy was in a playful mood and tried to jump up at Alfie to get his attention. Alfie ignored Buddy's harassment. At one point, we came across a squirrel that caught Alfie's attention. None of the other pack members took notice, but Alfie started to pull and leapt toward the squirrel when it started running. Buddy took Alfie's excitement as an invitation to try to stir up some play again, but Alfie was too focused on the squirrel to notice Buddy bouncing off of him.
