Monday Pack Activities (1/13/2025)

Adventure Pack

Bear, Tozai, Rey, and Ruffers kept up a swift pace on our way out along Mesa Trail today. With everyone in a rhythm and few distractions along the way, we made it further out than I think the pack has ever gone on that trail before. Our pack elder, Ruffers, and our youngest pack member, Tozai, both kept up the pace without skipping a beat. On the way back, Tozai started getting a little punchy with Bear and irritated him enough that Bear turned on him, puffed up his chest, and took a few threatening steps toward him to tell him to back off. That worked for most of the rest of the way, until Tozai started getting frisky again during our final stretch. We stopped and said hello to a dog named Bowie, whom the packs have come across now and then over the years at the Chautauqua. Bear and Rey were amped up about being approached at first, but settled down quickly enough, and then everyone got some friendly sniffs in.

Variety Pack

Dylan, Lumi, Carl, Lou, and Alfie walked Goose Creek Greenway and Boulder Creek Path from Valmont Park this afternoon. There was a hard, cold, steady wind when we first set out, but it calmed before long. Lumi enjoyed rolling in the snow at one stop while Carl and Dylan sniffed around in it; Lou and Dylan poked around a little as well, but were more focused on watching me for the next cue (or maybe waiting to see if I was going to dole out another round of treats).
