Friday Pack Activities (3/31/2023)
Adventure Pack
Dylan, Yoshi, Griff and Sanni braved the winds to hike the Mesa Trail this morning. The way up along Bluebell Road was pretty rough going, with one particularly unpleasant blast of sand and grit that was kicked up by the wind; however, once we got to the Mesa Trail it was actually pretty calm. We encountered the Bernese Mountain Dog, Aston, again and this time Dylan and Griff both went up to sniff hello - although Dylan was more interested in Aston's human. Yoshi and Sanni were both pretty worked up and wanted to say hello as well, but Aston was taken aside, so we walked on by without a greeting. Back at the packmobile, I spent a couple minutes getting Yoshi to hop into the car on his own. Everyone was happy when he did, because they all got treats.
Variety Pack
The pack headed to Goose Creek Greenway again for our afternoon walk. There was a nice stretch of the path that was buffered by a dense patch of tall shrubs, which made for a nice bit of respite from the otherwise windy outing. Blu, Racer, Ruffers and Gidget all seemed spurred on by the wind at their backs, and kept pulling ahead. There was some plastic fencing flapping in the wind that really caught Blu's interest. Yoshi poked at Racer a bit, early on, and got a few annoyed snarls out of her; then he settled down and walked pretty nicely by Lou and Rey for the rest of the time. He got some more practice hopping into the car on his own, and everyone again enjoyed his success with him.
