Friday Pack Activities (1/31/2025)

Adventure Pack

Lou, Lucy, Alfie, and Tozai all did a lot of sniffing around the trail head, and for the first stretch afterwards, just like yesterday's pack. I guess the damp earth from the melting snow has a lot to offer the olfactorily inclined. Tozai tried mounting Lucy a couple times early on. I held his muzzle and sternly told him that's not how to be friendly. He got the message and didn't try to mount her a single time more through the rest of the hike. Lucy walked well most of the time, but got extremely excited and lunged whenever we went by another dog, from the opposite side of the trail where I took the pack to create some distance. Tozai usually sat in place on his own whenever we pulled over. Alfie and Lou remained mellow.

Variety Pack

Buddy, Alfie, and Lumi all had some fun flopping around in the snowy field in front of the library this afternoon on our walk along Boulder Creek Path. Carl, Alfie, and Lumi then all noticed some ducks floating down the creek, and stared at them intently for a minute. Ruffers was just chilling out, enjoying the atmosphere in general, while her packmates focused on snow and ducks. We didn't come across any goose poop zones today, which was a nice change from most of our Boulder Creek Path walks. A couple different people stopped to admire the pack and how nicely everyone was walking. Lumi, Carl, and Ruffers all turned their heads and smiled at them as we went by, which was a nice touch. Near the end of the walk, Lumi stopped and went up to a couple to say hello and get some pets before we moved on. It was a beautiful afternoon!
