Friday Pack Activities (1/10/2025)

Adventure Pack

Tozai had his first Adventure Pack outing today, with Yoshi and Nelly! After a slow start with everyone sniffing and poking around along Bluebell Road, Tozai had no trouble keeping up as we maintained a pretty swift pace on Enchanted and Kohler Mesas. I kept an eye on Nelly since I had warning that she has been overindulging on snow lately, but Tozai was the only one who munched on snow during our hike. Everyone stayed on leash for Tozai's benefit, to help establish a norm of sticking together on the trails. Yoshi got pretty excited about the several other dogs we saw along the way, but he stayed in place when we pulled off to the side of the trail to let them pass. Tozai and Nelly were also interested, but their attentions were more easily redirected.

Variety Pack

Ruffers, Yoshi, Carl, Lumi and Lou sniffed around the nearest tree when we first set out at Martin Park this afternoon. After everyone was satisfied, we crossed the park and started along Bear Creek Greenway. There were a few other dogs out, and Yoshi was again pretty excited when they came near. The rest of the pack kept calm, and Yoshi again stayed in place without pulling when we stepped off the side of the path. We were moving along at a good, steady pace and skipped the mile marker boulder on the way out, but stopped at it on the return leg. Everyone spent some time checking out the area. They also spent a little time poking around a big snow mound in the nearby field.
