Wednesday Pack Activities
Adventure Pack
The warming weather resulted in some slushy snow on the way up to Enchanted Mesa, which was easier to navigate than icy patches. Ruffers brought up the rear, as usual. She and Sputnik were both pretty mellow during their time off leash. I took care with Sputnik to sit him down and have him wait at the side of the trail while other dogs passed, and he did a much better job of keeping it together today. We came across the hiker whom we often cross paths with, who used to hike with his Golder Retreiver until she passed away a couple years ago. Sputnik and Mamacita were both happy to go up and say hello, which he always appreciates.
Variety Pack
Little Zoe and Rey have taken to lying down face-to-face to wrestle and gnaw on each other whenever they are in the packmobile together. They did so both before and after our walk along the Bear Creek Path this afternoon. If Zoey felt left out, she didn't show it, as she seemed perfectly content to hang out on the sidelines while her little packmates went at it with each other. During the walk, Rey was easily distracted by every passing person or dog we came across. She especially yearned to chase after someone who passed by on a skateboard. Zoe was more focused on smells than on people. Zoey was happy just trotting along with me, and stopping a few times along the way to leave her mark.
